SITE COUNCIL MISSION & PURPOSE
(Who we are)
The Birch Lane School Site Council (“SSC”) is an elected group of teachers, staff, families and community members who collaborate with the principal to review school programs and allocate certain school funds. We have a legal duty to evaluate and fund academic, behavior, safety and social economic programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
(What we do)
- Analyze student achievement data
- Review community surveys
- Develop and approve the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA)
- Review and approve School Safety Plan
- Develop and allocate Site Council budget of state and federal funds
- Monitor and evaluate plans and fund distribution
- Adhere to the Site Council Bylaws (hyperlinked to Bylaws .pdf)
WHY WE SERVE
Our belief is that the people involved with, and affected by, Birch Lane on a day to day basis make the best decisions for the school. To that end, the SSC meets regularly as representatives of those groups to plan for and ensure ongoing success at Birch Lane.
School Site Council
Birch Lane Elementary School Site Council Meets on the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. on Teams.
Members of the BLE community are invited to observe.
