Greetings Birch Lane Families,
Happy Week 19 of the 2022-2023 school year. Thank you for your continued patience with the rain. This week we have had less flooding, but more days of inside recess and lunch recess. If it is raining lightly to moderately we are getting students outside on the blacktop. We have options for indoor recess in the old mpr, library time, and we have provided coloring sheets and crayons in the new mpr. We also generally have a G-rated movie in the new MPR. I know media and screen time during recess is not ideal, but it has been challenging to find opportunities for large groups of students to remain safe indoors.
Also, please keep in mind that at the start and end of school our office staff is busy fielding calls and making sure students get to class on time. Please do your best to get your students to school on time, and picked up on time.

Science Night
Birch Lane Family Science Night is coming back!
It will be on
Thursday, Feb. 9 from 6:30-8 PM in the new MPR, and we need scientists from our community!
Do you work in a scientific field and have something to share with Birch Lane students? We are looking for scientists in a variety of fields to host an informative or interactive table at Science Night. Now is your chance to show our kids the cool things you do at work and why it is important for our society. Share your love of science!
We'll also need a few parent volunteers to help facilitate the event that evening.
