Parent Letter - January 9
Posted on 01/09/2023
Principal's Message Greetings Birch Lane Families,

Happy Week 18 of the 2022-2023 school year. I hope you all survived our first week back with wind and rain. A huge shout out to Tim and Pandi Chorey for meeting me on campus on Thursday night and unplugging our drains so that we could reduce flooding on campus. I also want to say thank you to Mr. G. for digging ditches after school to keep our walkways clear of water. It was a busy week back, but we were all happy to have the students back on campus!

We are all working hard to update our Birch Lane Website so it can be a useful tool and resource with timely information. Please check back weekly for updates like new technology resources for your student, updates on our English Learner Program and links to our Birch Lane PTA page. It is a work in progress, but I am hopeful by the end of the year you will be able to find timely information! https://birchlane.djusd.net/home

Science Night

Birch Lane Family Science Night is coming back!

It will be on Thursday, Feb. 9 from 6:30-8 PM in the new MPR, and we need scientists from our community!

Do you work in a scientific field and have something to share with Birch Lane students? We are looking for scientists in a variety of fields to host an informative or interactive table at Science Night. Now is your chance to show our kids the cool things you do at work and why it is important for our society. Share your love of science!

We'll also need a few parent volunteers to help facilitate the event that evening.

If you're interested in either volunteer opportunity, please email Leslie Umali at [email protected].

Thank you, and thanks to our PTA for sponsoring this wonderful event!
