My Teaching
I began at Birch Lane as a student teacher in 2013. I was hired as a 5th grade teacher in 2014. I have been teaching 5th grade at Birch Lane ever since! I love helping students challenge themselves to meet their goals. I also love building a caring classroom community as we empower one another to make the world a better place. I feel fortunate to work at such a great school and I am eager to get started again this year!
My Education
I attended San Jose State University where I got a B.A. in Liberal Studies in 2013. I minored in Child Development and Math. I received my teaching credential from U.C. Davis in 2014. I then earned my Masters in Education in 2015. The focus of my masters was mathematical communication.
My Interests
I love dancing! I was a competitive dancer in High School and I continue to dance by taking virtual Zumba fitness classes. I also have a background in teaching gymnastics. Other things I enjoy include running, walking, and bike riding. I love spending time with my kids! I also like trying out new vegetarian recipes.
